I love traveling so much that I seem to be on the road or in the sky more often than not. Recently I have taken to traveling by boat so I can see the surrounding land and sea. No matter how I get there, my favorite way to get around once I have arrived at my destination, is to explore on foot. It is the best way to get acclimated when you are in a new location, and it is the only way to see everything you want at your own speed. Find the Right Footwear
Depending on where you are going to be doing all of this walking, you may want sneakers, or some heavy-duty sandals. The idea is that you should be comfortable in your shoes, there should not be any pinching or rubbing that would cause you to be uncomfortable. On top of comfort, you need to think about support. In order to support the arch of your foot there should be some type of special sole. It really depends what type of foot you have as well. I have a particularly high arch so I need to really be aware of this when purchasing shoes. Getting yourself an additional pair of gel inserts for your shoes might be a great idea.
Pack Some Snacks
If you are like me, being hungry makes your cranky and tired, which is the last thing you want to be on your vacation. Get ahead of the hunger by packing some great travel snacks. Anything with nuts or granola can be easily portable and packed full of protein and healthy fats. You should also bring fruit, water, and some crackers or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. There are plenty of options and ideas out there if you are looking.
Bring Plenty of Water
Water is so important for your daily health. Our bodies are made up of eighty percent water so it is important that we are constantly replenishing it when are doing anything that causes us to sweat or burn calories. One of the best ways to make sure you always have enough water is to buy a water bottle that contains a filter inside. This way you can fill your water bottle from where ever there is water, even if it is not typically safe for drinking.
